New Drury Station Opens on 2 August – Just Five Minutes From Watermere Residences
Living further south has traditionally meant accepting a longer drive into Auckland CBD. From Sunday 2 August 2026, that equation becomes considerably more appealing.
Auckland Transport has confirmed that the new Drury and Paerātā railway stations will open on 2 August, connecting South Auckland and Franklin directly to the Southern Line. The new Drury Station will operate seven days a week, with services running from early morning until late evening.
For future residents of Watermere Residences, the best part is how close it is.
Five Minutes to the Station. One Train to the City.
Drury Station is approximately a five-minute drive from Watermere Residences Wehi Drive and Waimarie Drive.

The station includes 350 park-and-ride spaces, so you can drive down, park the car and catch a direct Southern Line train to Waitematā Station – formerly known as Britomart.
The train journey takes approximately 60 minutes, depending on the service. It is one train all the way, with no need to change at Papakura, Puhinui or anywhere else along the route. Auckland Transport’s new timetable shows scheduled journeys from Drury to Waitematā taking around 59 minutes.
That means your commute can become time you actually get back.
Catch up on Netflix. Listen to a podcast. Answer a few emails. Read a book. Take a nap and hope you do not wake up in Pukekohe on the return trip.
Anything beats spending an hour studying the bumper of the car in front of you.
Easy Access to Auckland – And Everything in Between
The new station is not only about reaching the CBD.

Southern Line trains from Drury will stop at every station through to Waitematā, providing direct connections to destinations including Papakura, Puhinui, Middlemore, Ōtāhuhu, Ellerslie, Newmarket and Parnell. Auckland Airport will also be accessible by transferring to the AirportLink bus at Puhinui Station.
Whether you are commuting to work, heading to university, catching a flight, visiting the hospital or meeting friends in the city, Watermere Residences will be well connected without requiring you to live in the middle of Auckland.
It is the best of both worlds: a spacious new home in Karaka, with a direct rail connection to the city only minutes away.
Watermere Residences is Nearly Complete
Construction at Watermere Residences is now approximately 90% complete, with landscaping and interior finishing underway.
A fully completed home will be available to view within the next few weeks. We will also be holding an official launch open home once it is ready, so keep an eye out for that announcement.
Three homes have already sold off the plans. Once buyers can walk through a completed residence and experience the design, space and quality in person, we expect interest to increase further.
With Drury Station about to open and construction entering its final stages, now is an excellent time to visit Watermere Residences and see how convenient life here could be.
